Weddin Landcare aims to participate in Clean Up Australia Day every year, on the first Sunday in March. A Clean Up event is generally organised for a local park or patch of bushland in the Grenfell district. Community volunteers join with Landcare members to pick up rubbish to help keep our local environment clean.
Rubbish is not only an eyesore but can pose health risks to humans and local wildlife, with many animals becoming entangled in waste such as baling twine and plastic bags, choking on smaller plastic objects or being injured by sharp objects such as fish hooks.
