SAVE THE DATE!

As part of our Over the Fence project, join Weddin Landcare for a field day to hear from industry reps and adopting farmers about the latest in technology for livestock to improve management and profitability.

Date: Thursday 11th June

Time: 8:30am – 4:00pm

Hosts: Rob, Mandy and Fletcher Taylor

Location: “Glenalla”, Tyagong Creek Rd, Greenethorpe

This field day is designed to give graziers insight into differnet technologies that are being used on local farms to assist with animal and grazing management, improve animal health, capture and use data to fast track breeding objectives, increase efficiencies and improve productivity and profitability. Technologies we will discuss on the day include:

    • Electronic identification (EID) equipment and uses
    • Sheep handlers and weighing systems
    • Electric and virtual fencing
    • Ag managment software
    • Farm monitoring systems and sensors
    • And more!

We’ll hear from Sally Martin from SheepMetrix as well as several local farmers about the different technologies they are using.

On the day we’re also hoping to have a small selection of trade displays for participants to browse and get their questions answered during the breaks. Watch this space for a list of exhibitors that will be attending the day.

This field day is supported by the Australian Government through funding from the Climate-Smart Agriculture Program under the Natural Heritage Trust.
