Join Weddin Landcare for our annual wildflower walk. Being Halloween, we have added a spooky twist this year and are hosting it at Monteagle Cemetery!
The Monteagle Cemetery features a unique remnant grassy box woodland. Unlike many similar woodlands, it has been largely untouched by grazing from sheep and cattle and is around 4 ha.
The understorey is primarily composed of kangaroo grass (Themeda australis) and snow grass (Poa sieberiana), with a variety of native herbs and wildflowers amidst the grassy landscape.
Meeting at the Weddin Community Native Nursery, we will carpool to the Monteagle Cemetery from there. If you would prefer to meet at the cemetery, we will get there just after 9:30 am. Monteagle Cemetery is located on Sads Lane, Monteagle.
